"A Stone Thrown in Anger Never Kills a Bird"

The Yoruba people have a wonderful way of using proverbs to convey wisdom.

How many times have you shouted in frustration or said things in anger and discovered you still didn't have a resolution to your problem? There are even odu (sacred Ifa verses) that speak about "anger doesn't amount to anything fruitful. Patience is the father of character. A child who has patience will live long..." I wish I could give the specific odu as I write this post, but I don't remember it. I will add it later if I can.

Today I pray for a cool head, Ori tutu. I pray that my head remains cool, calm, and collected.
